Skiing Ability Levels

Level 1

Skiing Level 1

This is your first time ever skiing. Instructors take you through the CSIA’s “Gliding Experience”, the safe & fun way to learn to ski. Basic fundamental skiing skills are learned here.

(Never Ever Skier - First Time Ever Skiing / Magic Carpet - Bunny Hill)

Level 2

Skiing Level 2

You’ve skied a couple times, but have not mastered stopping or turning. Learning how to stop & link smooth wedge / snowplow turns on green slopes and develop speed control. Snowplow skiing skills are learned here.

(Novice Skier / Magic Carpet - T Bar / Bunny Hill - Green Slopes)

Level 3

Skiing Level 3

You are comfortable linking snowplow turns on green slopes and can stop. Learning how to ski parallel on blue slopes, get on the chairlift and up the mountain. Introduction to parallel skiing learned here.

(Beginner Skier / T Bar & First Chair Lift Experience / Green & Blue Slopes)

Level 4

Skiing Level 4

You are confident linking turns on all blue slopes. Learning how to become a confident & smooth parallel skier. Like to start exploring black slopes and more terrain. Fundamental parallel skiing skills learned here.

(Intermediate Skier / Chair Lifts / Blue Slopes & Experiment Black Slopes)

Level 5

Skiing Level 5

You are a confident skiing all blue slopes and most black slopes. Develop carving skills, mogul skills and powder skills to be a confident all mountain skier on steeper black slopes. All mountain skiing skills learned here.

(Advanced Skier / Chair Lifts / Blue & Black Slopes)

Level 6

Skiing Level 6

You ski black & double black slopes in all snow conditions. Like to refine your skills and become a smoother more efficient skier.  Expert skiing technique refined here.

(Expert Skier / Ride all Lifts / Black & Double Black Slopes)

Snowboard Ability Levels

Level 1

Snowboard Level 1

This is your first time snowboarding. Instructors take you through CASI’s “Quickride Methods”, the safe & fun way to learn to snowboard. Basic fundamental skills are learned here.

(Never Ever - First Time Snowboarding / Magic Carpet / Bunny Hill)

Level 2

Snowboard Level 2

You have boarded a few times. You are comfortable on your heel edge    but need to work on your toe edge and stopping.

(Beginner Snowboarder / Magic Carpet – T Bar / Bunny Hill - Green Slopes)

Level 3

Snowboard Level 3

You are comfortable on your heel and toe edge but need to work on changing between the two edges (Turning or S turns).

(Novice Snowboarder / T Bar - First Chair Lift / Green & Blue Slopes)

Level 4

Snowboard Level 4

You are comfortable linking turns both ways on green slopes and are looking to build confidence or control working onto the steeper blue runs.

(Intermediate Snowboarder / Chair Lift / Blue Slopes)

Level 5

Snowboard Level 5

You are confident on all green and blue slopes and are looking to experiment on black slopes.  You are wanting to ride bumps and begin riding switch.

(Advanced Snowboarder / All Chair Lifts / Blue & Black Slopes).

Level 6

Snowboard Level 6

You are confident all over the hill, on and off the groomed runs. Blues and black, Bumps and steeps, jumps and switch riding. Looking to refine your skills and take your riding to the next level.

(Expert Snowboarder / Ride all Lifts / Black & Double Black Slopes)
