Break out the old-school, retro, vintage ski gear and head on up to Kimberley Alpine Resort on Saturday, March 28 to celebrate the good-ole-days of spring! This is our newest and fastest growing event at KAR! Party down with live music in the plaza with MILE HIGH CLUB at 3pm, beer gardens, moguls comp, best dressed dog, kids activities, synchro skiing competition, and ski ballet! As usual, there will be prizes for big hair, best dressed, goggle tans and much more. Here is the schedule of the day: 9:00am - Registration for Mogul, Banked Slalom, Ballet, and synchro at the Event Tents at base of quad. Get ready for the fun and exciting The NorthStar Turnin Banked Slalom! The course features a series of banked turns that weave its way down the Owl Tbar, the fastest time down wins! Who: This is a fun and friendly and FREE event open to all ages, ski and snowboarders welcome. Participants should be at least an intermediate level.

How to Register - Please note! Come early spots are limited. If you have registered online and do not show up to check in by 10:45am, we will give your spot up to someone else. Course inspection - Race takes place on the TBAR. Course may not be open to ski or ride before the event, but can be inspected from side of the course. Kimberley Alpine Resort and the town of Kimberley have an extensive history. Come enjoy an “on mountain” historical tour at no cost. You will learn about the history of North Star Mountain and the town of Kimberley. Tours will be roughly 2 hours long and on snow/mountain.
Do you know how “Schoolhouse Run” got its name? Do you know that many of the runs on the Mountain are named after mining claims? Do you know how North Star Mountain came to be?

Back by popular demand by dog lovers everywhere the North Star Day Best Dressed Dog Competition and Best Doggie Trick! This awesome event is sure to be the highlight of the day! Dogs will strut their stuff for begging rights at 11:30am in the KAR Plaza. This is a free event! Tell your friends!

Grab your friends and your one piece suits and show off your ski/board synchro skills. Judging will be based on; artistry, outfits, & fun! Who: Teams of 2 or more. All disciplines are welcome: Skiing/Snowboarding/Telemark/Adaptive/Kids. Women's, Men's, & Mixed teams. What you need to know: All participants must meet below the skier bridge on skiers right by the snow gun at 11:50am. Look for HOST IN YELLOW JACKET. Participants must have a lift ticket or season pass. This is a great spectator event! Best viewing is from the Beer Gardens at the base. Skiers will be skiing down lookers left of bottom quad. Compete for the chance to win some awesome prizes!

Dress up in your fun retro wear and slow dog noodle down the moguls. Who: This is a fun, friendly, and FREE event open to all ages. Both ski and snowboarders welcome. Participants should be at least an intermediate level.

Where: Moguls will be on Owl TBAR How to Register:
Morning of the Event from 9am - 12:30pm at the Event Tent base of quad. (Spots are limited, come early to sign up to guarantee your spot!) Parents must be present at registration to sign waivers for kids 15 years and under. If you have registered online and do not show up to check in by 12:30pm, we will give your spot up to someone else.
Competition starts at 1:00pm lookers left of tbar How the comp works: 45min jam - maximum 3 runs, your best score of the 3 to qualify for the finals. Judging: Impress our judges with your unique and old school style, costumes, tricks, speed, and smoothness in the bumps. Prizes to follow on main stage in plaza.
