2026 IFSA Jr *2 Freeride Competition

LOCATION Kimberley Alpine Resort

Kimberley Alpine Resort is an IFSA Junior Regional stop to the series, hosting the Jeep Junior Freeride Series on January 23-25.

COMPETITIONS AND RACES EVENT

This event provides the opportunity for youth between the ages of 7 and 18 to develop and showcase their skiing and snowboarding skills in a fun and supportive environment. Kimberley is a fantastic venue for first-time competitors who are looking to get into the freeride community. The Jeep Junior Freeride Series is the only one of its kind in Canada and part of Resort of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) ongoing commitment to providing active and healthy pursuits for youth.

Check out the next generation of freeriders! Competitors will display their skills on natural terrain while being judged on 5 categories – Line Choice, Control, Fluidity, Technique and Style/Energy.

This event is part of the IFSA Junior 2* Series.  IFSA membership is needed to enter the series, competitors will have their results count towards IFSA ranking must have a valid 25-26 IFSA membership.

SCHEDULE

Thursday, January 22nd: 9am - 7 pm at KAR Guest Services Check-In Athletes and Coaches. Pick up bibs.
Venue Inspection -   (tentative - conditions permitting) Please note this is not the official inspection. All athletes will have the opportunity for an official inspection run each morning.

Friday, January 23rd: Late Registration 7:30 am at KAR Guest Services
Qualifier Day 1: All U12 categories, All U15 snowboarders, U15 ski women

Saturday, Jan 24 - Late Registration 7:30 am at KAR Guest Services
Qualifier Day 2: U15 ski men, All U19 categories

Sunday, January 25th – Finals

OTHER IMPORTANT EVENT INFO

  • All athletes MUST have a current IFSA Membership, Regional Membership and their IFSA username and password to register
  • It is mandatory for all athletes to have a CERTIFIED IFSA COACH with a current IFSA Coach Membership.  This includes Independent Athletes – Independent Athletes must have an IFSA-certified Parent Coach
  • Helmets and Back Protectors are mandatory

WAIVERS

All athletes must complete the online RCR Event Release Agreement(s) prior to completing registration this year.

  • Competitors 16 years and older must complete the RCR Event Agreement. The competitor can complete this waiver.
  • Competitors 15 yrs and younger must complete BOTH the RCR Event Agreement AND the RCR Parental Agreement. The competitor’s parent or legal guardian must complete these two agreements.

Once complete, you will receive a unique “Agreement ID” for each waiver you fill out.  Please save the code(s), as you will need to enter the code(s) during the registration process below.

Coach tickets follow IFSA coaching ticket protocols:

2–4 Athletes 1 FREE coach ticket
5–10 Athletes 2 FREE coach tickets
11–15 Athletes 3 FREE coach tickets
16+ Athletes At the Event Host’s discretion

Coaches outside the ratios above will receive the athlete lift ticket discount.
To qualify for free or discounted coach tickets, coaches must be registered on LiveHeats and hold the appropriate IFSA certifications.
