WINTER OPERATIONS

Additional Policies & Procedures

Updated April 8, 2022

Important Information

The current Government of British Columbia health orders can be found at: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof

We have made the following updates in accordance with changes to public health orders in the Province of British Columbia. On April 8th, the BC Government lifted certain health restrictions, including no longer requiring proof of vaccinations. Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Resort(s) of Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will follow the revised guidelines, lifting the proof of vaccination requirement at our ski resorts for the remainder of the ski season.

We remind you to be courteous and kind to all those who may wish to continue to wear a mask indoors or outdoors. Please note that we may make further changes as the situation or government updates warrant. Continue to check the resort website for the most up-to-date information.

COVID-19: KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Welcome to the 2021.22 winter season! We look forward to hosting you as our valued guest this winter and enjoying the mountains alongside of you. At this point, we all understand there will be some necessary adjustments to how our operations will be run this season. We continue to work with the provincial government as well as the Canada West Ski Areas Association to put in place recommended measures and guidelines to help promote the safety of our guests and staff.

UPDATES

A history of updated sections:

  • Proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record & Vaccinations
Distancing Measures & Signage

To align with our government's health and safety guidelines, we will be practicing physical distancing procedures throughout Kimberley Alpine Resort. We will be promoting maintaining 6 feet of physical distance from anyone outside of your social bubble. Directional and distancing signage will be placed around the resort, as well as plexiglass and other barriers.

Face Coverings

Face Coverings are no longer required in indoor or outdoor settings effective Friday, March 11, 2022, we are however still highly recommending the use of masks. As an added precaution for the safety of our guests and staff we will still require all RCR staff to wear masks while on shift.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty, the pandemic has created, RCR reserves the right to amend its policies at any time.

Our Rental & Retail shops are historically high traffic areas, as such we will be implementing capacity restrictions and additional cleaning measures, these may be adjusted throughout the season as government recommendations are released.
  • Revised capacities, floor markings and other measures to help ensure physical distancing
  • Increased cleaning protocols, all rental equipment will be sanitized between use/guests
  • Daily monitoring of all employees to ensure they are free of symptoms. All employees will be required to wear personal protective equipment and will be trained on health protocols related to COVID-19
  • Continuous updates to our sanitary measures by staying up to date with government standards and recommendations

Our washrooms are another high-traffic area we will be paying extra attention to with enhanced cleaning procedures and distancing measures.

  • Maximum occupancy loads based on provincial COVID-19 Guidelines,
  • Barriers or closed off stalls, urinals and sinks to ensure appropriate physical distancing,
  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitation program,
  • Signage in washrooms to promote physical distancing, proper handwashing and waste disposal techniques.
Additional Recommendations

We recommend you take steps to protect yourself. We promote contactless payment as much as possible, regular hand sanitization and washing, staying within your social bubble and avoiding gatherings on the properties.

Remain respectful - we will not tolerate any abuse towards our staff members or other guests regarding any of these guidelines. Anyone not able to follow our recommendations will be asked to leave.
We are as enthusiastic about winter as ever and hope you are too! Let’s make it a great season working together and taking time to enjoy our spectacular mountain surroundings.
